3D Renders:
Custom Granny Flats
These 3D renders showcase a series of custom-designed granny flats created for a modular builder client in Australia. Each design was developed not just as a visualization exercise, but as part of a practical response to the real-world constraints of modular housing construction.
Design Challenges
The primary challenge was to design living spaces that would remain comfortable, functional, and visually appealing while meeting strict modular requirements:
Transportability: Each unit had to fit within the width of a standard truck trailer and comply with maximum height limits to allow safe transport from the fabrication site to the client’s property.
Efficient Space Use: With compact footprints, the interiors were carefully planned to maximize living, dining, kitchen, and bedroom areas without compromising circulation or comfort.
Modular Flexibility: The design approach ensured each granny flat could be fabricated in controlled environments and then installed quickly and efficiently onsite.
Marketing-Ready Renders
The 3D visuals were prepared as part of the marketing package, highlighting the architectural intent while presenting the flats in a polished, lifestyle-oriented way. These renders give prospective homeowners a clear sense of the finished product, from material finishes to spatial flow. They serve as both sales assets and design communication tools, bridging the gap between the builder’s modular construction process and the customer’s vision of a livable home.
Bringing Ideas to Life
By combining architectural design expertise with high-quality 3D visualization, these granny flats were transformed from technical modular layouts into inviting homes ready for presentation. The renders help clients not only understand the practical design solutions but also imagine themselves living in these spaces.
